Permanent Makeup | Microblading

Microblading & Hair Stroke Brows

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a manual method of cosmetic tattooing using a micro blade (hence the name) to create hair strokes that look unmistakably like real hairs.

WHAT ARE NANO BROWS, OR MACHINE HAIRSTROKES?

We also offer advanced alternatives to Microblading, which is Nano Brows – aka Hyper realism brows, where hair strokes are created by machine instead which can be better for more resistant or compromised skin.

WHO CAN HAVE MICROBLADING?

Microblading is better suited to less oily skin, or skin that isn’t overly sun damaged or very thin.
What if you don’t have any brows? No problem, we would suggest a combination brow, where we combine shading and strokes together to get a perfect blend.
If in doubt, get in touch or book your free consultation.
For more information, visit our FAQ’s section.

HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?

Microblading typically can last 12 – 18 months, by which time you will be getting ready to come in for a colour booster session. Any form of cosmetic tattooing is deemed permanent, but you might find that as the months/years progress, if you do not maintain them, then you will be left a faded out version of pigment in your skin. We highly recommend maintenance with all aspects of PMU (Permanent Make Up).
Kerry does work with a light hand and quality pigments to avoid over saturation of your PMU.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Microblading, Machine ‘Nano’ or Combination brows are £295 for your initial session.

A top-up session is required at weeks 6 -8 which costs £80.00

All treatments require a non-refundable booking fee of £50 to secure a booking, so please always ask any questions and read the Booking Info prior to booking.

Permanent Makeup | Ombre & Powder Brows

Ombre & Powder Brows

WHAT ARE OMBRE & POWDER BROWS?

These are both cosmetic eyebrow tattoos – but instead of hair strokes, they have a soft powdery look, similar to if you put some powder in your brows when you do your makeup – except this won’t rub or sweat off!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWDER AND OMBRE?

The way I work is that Ombre is softer and pixelated and powder will typically be a little more defined, even a little bolder if preferred, but do not worry, all this is discussed in depth in your consultation.

WHO CAN HAVE OMBRE & POWDER BROWS?

Pretty much anyone can have this style of brow, as it is the most versatile, suited to pretty much every skin type.

HOW LONG DO OMBRE & POWDER BROWS LAST?

Typically, they can last around 18 – 24 months, by which time you will be getting ready to come in for a colour booster session. Any form of cosmetic tattooing is deemed permanent, but you might find that as the months/years progress, if you do not maintain them, then you will be left a faded out version of pigment in your skin. We highly recommend maintenance with all aspects of PMU (Permanent Make Up).

Permanent Makeup | Plasma Fibroblast | Kerry Welstead

Plasma Fibroblast

WHAT IS PLASMA FIBROBLAST?

In its simplest terms, it is a non-surgical treatment to lift and tighten skin, or treat other issues such as Stretch Marks and Skin Tags, for example.

Fibroblasts are principal cells that are within connective tissues, they play a vital role in skin healing and collagen production. When the thermal changes happen during the Plasma treatment, Fibroblasts are activated and wound healing begins.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

During the Fibroblast Treatment, a specialist device is used, which has a tip that creates an electric current, causing a ‘plasma arc’. These tiny arcs of plasma are created by an electrical discharge between the tip of the pen and the skin, singeing the surface and tightening the underlying tissue. The pen does not touch the skin, but is used in a very close range. The technology involves the use of plasma, formed through the ionization of atmospheric gas (the air), which then works to stimulate the contraction, shortening and tightening of skin fibres. This results in the reduction of the skin surface.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DOES IT TAKE?

Depending on the area and skin’s integrity, the sessions required vary – it can be as little as two up to 6. Often, 2 -4 are adequate for a lot of clients.

Feel free to get in touch or book your free consultation.
For more information, visit our FAQ’s section.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The results are very long-lasting as once the skin is tightened, it is tightened up to that point and many clients find these results last years. Natural ageing or weight changes can affect the results in the future.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

It depends on the area you are treating. There are package options available which offer excellent discounts. Subsequent sessions of the same area also heavily discounted. Check out our pricing here.

All treatments require a non-refundable booking fee of £50 to secure a booking, so please always ask any questions and read the Booking Info prior to booking.

Q & A about:

PMU & scalp micropigmentation

Does having Permanent Make Up or SMP hurt?

Everyone’s experience and threshold is different, whilst many find it pretty painless as we use a topical numbing cream, you may experience slight discomfort – but general speaking, clients report little to no pain at all!
For SMP numbing is not needed or used.

How long does it last?

In terms of ‘wear ability’ both PMU & SMP can last 18 months to 5yrs, however, some clients retain pigment better than others and some treatments last longer than others, the same with certain pigment shades. Therefore, it is recommended you get 12-18 month top-ups to keep it looking its best and fresh

What's the difference between Semi-Permanent & Permanent?

Nothing! There are many terms used to describe these treatments like those just mentioned as well as others including Cosmetic Tattoo, Micro-pigmentation, Permanent Pigmentation etc. Whilst results often will and do fade, they are still deemed permanent as pigment is being implanted into your skin. We prefer avoiding the term SPMU as ultimately, you are having pigment implanted into your skin as mentioned, as is the fading but elements and particles always remain – hence permanent.

Is Microblading a Tattoo?

Yes – it is still a form of Permanent Make-up, rather than a machine/electronic device, a manual tool is used instead when Microblading.

Is SMP a Tattoo? Does it look realistic?

SMP too is a form of tattooing, using a specialised pigment, deposited into the dermal layer of the scalp. They are often referred to as ‘dots’ for ease, but in actual fact, when you look closely, with a good artist you will also see that many of these ‘dots’ actually look textured to give the illusion of hairs coming out the follicle, It is an amazingly skilled and intricate art form. One Kerry loves!

What happens after the procedure?

After the procedure you may notice some slight redness, even a little swelling, this is normal and will usually subside over the course of a few hours. The colour will look darker and more intense initially due to the increased blood flow and redness in the area.
Please always follow your given aftercare for best results.

Does the treatment it hurt?

A topical numbing is used, so generally speaking most clients do not find it painful, more irritating than anything else, you may also feel a little heat in the area being treated. Post procedure, you likely feel a slight sensation similar to that of sunburn.

Is there much downtime?

No. However, the area will appear red and look slightly sore and can swell in areas around the eyes for a few days. It is advised to consider having this treatment when you perhaps are able to have some downtime for a few days.

When will I see results?

Although you might notice a slight change in the area immediately, it isn’t until around weeks 8 onward that the results can be seen, sometimes it will be a little longer as the skin continues to heal and tighten over a period of a few weeks.

How long do results last?

Like most surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of Fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing, but the positive results should last years, depending on the area treated, the severity of the treated area and many lifestyle factors. Like any treatment, results cannot be guaranteed

What happens after the procedure?

After the procedure you may notice some slight redness, even a little swelling, this is normal and will usually subside over the course of a few hours. The colour will look darker and more intense initially due to the increased blood flow and redness in the area.
